The Ten Essential Wardrobe Elements as devised by Tim Gunn are practical pieces around which you can build your wardrobe. The Ten Elements are mostly classic pieces, but what's important is whether they fit you properly, are not outdated, and bring out your best features. The following is the shopping list of Tim Gunn's 10 essential items, with helpful hints from this article's author.

Basic Black Dress
- The basic black dress has been around for a long time. It is often called the "Little Black Dress", and it's true that shorter skirts on the basic black dress, when they hit you in the right place, can be more flattering than a long black dress.
Trench Coat - The trench coat is one of the pieces that is both classic and currently a hot fashion item. Most any store sells this piece now. It is great for fall and you can pick it up in a wide range of lengths.
Dress Pants - Although it doesn't say black, this is probably what you want to look for. Black is flattering on all figures and goes with everything.
Classic Shirt - The white shirt is a definite classic. But it can also come in many different styles to make it look trendy and not dated or like a man's piece of clothing. Find one that accentuates your best attributes and minimizes trouble spots. For example, if you have wide shoulders, stay away from large collars.
Jeans - Everyone has a pair of jeans, but does everyone have a pair of jeans that make them look great? The wider leg, low-rise jean style has been popular (and still is) but a narrower leg is coming back along with a higher waist, which eliminates the unflattering "muffin top" look.
Any Occasion Top - Find something you look great in that can look respectable under a jacket but bring on the fun after hours.
Skirt - If you need dress pants then you also need a skirt. A skirt is womanly and can be flirty or businesslike. Nowadays women do not wear many skirts or dresses, which makes a lot of them fall into a rut of dressing sloppily or like men. See number 8.
Day Dress - Women also are not wearing as many dresses anymore. It was certainly liberating to go from the '50s when women wore dresses every day to wearing more practical pants for gardening, exercising, and so forth. But the dress does not have to be abandoned altogether. They can be very flattering, and there is nothing wrong with "dressing up" for daytime.
Jacket - A jacket does not have to be masculine. Find one with a proper, fitted shape. Women's jackets should follow the silhouette of a woman's body and accent the hourglass curve at her waist. It is also a perfect piece to put with the skirt or dress pants, and white shirt. Or make it casual with a pair of jeans.
Sweatsuit Alternative - As mentioned before, women wear fewer skirts and dresses these days. But some women have taken casual to the extreme and spend days on end in sweatsuits. It is possible to be casual and comfortable without looking like a slob. Find a comfortable material (that's why this doesn't say jeans again – denim is not as comfortable as a nice soft cotton) that you would want to wear every day. It could be khakis, cords, a cotton dress, or much more.

So, I'm gonna try it. I know for sure that I need to shop in a more intelligent way. It's how people usually manage to get a functional and beautiful wardrobe, you know. And by now, mine isn't neither of these two things.

This post is my reply to the disney_abc  ' s super challenge. The goal is to make 26 icons of a single Disney movie, each one featuring some character/feeling/situation/etc with a different letter. The challenge ends at February 19th. My movie choice was 101 Dalmatians. Not sure why I chose it (since it's not my favorite Disney movie), but it has been a lot of fun (:  26 icons, 26 daysCollapse )

Last year, after reading a bunch of good critics and comments, I decided to watch True Blood's pilot and check it out. So I did and... I absolutely hated it! I was perplexed with the whole show. Anna Paquin's performance, the constant sex appeal, the seeming lack of creativity (toughts reader? human/vampire love? oh, plz) and it goes - by the time the credits appeared I was extremely sick. And that's how I left True Blood out of my life.

Untill now.
The thing is: the good critics and comments increased with time! And Anna Paquin won a Golden Globe!!! I downloaded the pilot again and watched it last night. I stopped with my pre-concepts right at the begining: the opening is AMAZING. One of the best I've ever seem, probably. About the eppisode, I guess I wouldn't know how to make a proper review... I still think this show is bizarre. Anna Paquin's performance still makes me wanna throw up (Golden Globe, WTF??) and the sex appeal bothers me - not as much as it used to, but still. But I do wanna watch it. Simply like that. Crazy like that, actually. And that's how I stopped to worry and start to love the fangs.

I don't know what you've done to me / But I know this much is true.

"Ryan Ross and Jon Walker will be leaving Panic At The Disco to embark on a musical excursion of their own. Though the four of us have made music together in the past, we've creatively evolved in different directions which has compromised what each of us want to personally achieve. Over the years, we have remained close and honest with each other, which helped us to realise that our goals were different and that parting ways is truly what is best for each of us. We are all excited for the future, you should be too.

-Ryan & Jon"

I want my Panic back, you know. I want Panic! At the Disco with the exclamation point and all the fucking funny-nonsense stuff. :/ Ryan's lyrics and Brendon's voice always seemed the perfect combination to me. Can't believe it's not gonna happen anymore... But of course, I'll support Ryan and Jon's work. I'm actually anxious to see what they'll come up with... Anxious, but sad still. :(

Spencer and Brendon, though, are still in the band and the say they'll carry on. Spencer posted a preview of their new song called "New Perspective". You can listen to it right here, at Panic!'s official site. Well, I kinda liked it, remembered me the old times Panic!, but you know... It's just not going to be the same thing. I was never good pretending these things.

(And I don't think I wanna comment Half Blood Prince. It was so much disappointment I don't think I'll ever find the right words to describe it. Rupert, Emma and Tom's job was really nice, though.)
